Required Tools

1. Tape measure
2. Marker pen
3. Hack saw with fine tooth blade
4. A sharp stanley knife
5. Spray bottle with soapy water

Before You Start

Before you start installing, you should check the following:

• Correct PVC Strip Thickness

  Make sure the PVC strip is suitable for the thickness of your shower glass.

• Check the Soft Seal Lip

  The soft plastic lip at the bottom of the strip must not be longer than the gap underneath the shower door. If the lip is too long, it may tear during use. Trimming may be required to ensure the lip fits within the available gap.

Cutting the Strip

• Measuring the Length and Cutting

  Replacement seal strips are supplied longer than required and must be trimmed to the correct size before installation.

  Measure the required length, then cut the seal strip to size using a hacksaw.

  Once cut, carefully clean up any rough edges using a stanley knife.

• Warning

  Do not use scissors or garden secateurs to cut the seal strip, as they may crack or damage the plastic.

Fitting the Strip

• Before Fitting Begins

  If your seal strip has a side deflector, make sure the strip is oriented correctly so that the deflector faces inwards, towards the shower recess.

• Fitting the New Strip

  Apply soapy water to the glass to lubricate the surface before installing the seal strip. This will help the seal sit into position more easily and reduce friction during installation.

  Start at the end of the shower screen that is furthest away from you, or at the end that is most difficult to reach.

  Push the seal strip onto the glass by applying force perpendicular to the length of the strip.
  DO NOT slide the seal strip onto the glass.

  Work your way across the strip one section at a time, ensuring each section is firmly seated onto the glass before moving to the next.

  Do not start from the middle of the strip. Starting from the centre can make the strip more difficult to control and may prevent the ends from sitting neatly in position.

  

• DO NOT Slide the Strip onto the Glass

  Do not slide the seal strip onto the glass by applying force parallel to the length of the strip.

  Sliding the seal along the glass may bend, fold, deform or otherwise damage the strip.
